All Possible Combinations Calculator Need Some Help With Combinations/permutations/ti-8… Calculator?

Need some help with combinations/permutations/ti-8… calculator? - all possible combinations calculator

big test tomorrow and I need much help. Here are some examples if you can explain how to resolve this would be great. Ok

How many four-letter words are possible with the first 5 letters of the alphabet, if:

a. Letters can be repeated.
b. Letters can be repeated
c. The first letter is one of the adjacent letters can not be the same?

Even if you know how this will be a function or an application on a TI-84 simulator solve yoru help much appreciated

You do not really need a calculator to solve them ... is a very simple thought.

Of course, it is the assumption that a "word" can be any combination of letters, even if they make sense. If the "word" only takes words from the dictionary (in English), then it could be much more difficult, as the linguist would be very practical.

A repeat) Points May.
Think about it. You have to choose 5 cards, and our 4 times. Thus, the number of possible combinations of 5 * 5 * 5 * 5 = 5 * 4 = 625. would

B) The letters can not be repeated.
Now that the cards can not be repeated, each time you select a letter then you have a few to choose from. So the possible combinations were here 5 * 4 * 3 * 2 = 5! = 120

C) The first letter may be one of the adjacent letters can not be equal.
I'm not sure what that means is a little more complicated. Well first, we know that the first card can not be 'a', so that the first option is only 4 points reduced. Secondly, knowledge orin letters to the other side can not be the same (which I assume is the same). So really, is only 4 letters to choose in order each time, because it is not the same as above. So the possible combinations would be 4 * 4 * 4 * 4 = 4 ^ 4 = 256.

You see? Easy. And I can (probably only one computer for the assessment of skills and perhaps even the factor 5! Is it really 5 * 4 * 3 * 2 * 1). Moreover, it is not necessary to do an application.

Oh, and if you want to know the "!" the role of the TI-84 + can be found in [Mathematics]> PRB> 4:!.
